Money Raised in 2016: $12,087.86
The Martial Arts Center hosted a "Kick-A-Thon" to benefit the Aflac Cancer Center and Blood Disorders Service of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in late 2016. The fund-raiser, which is open to the public, also included a silent auction. The Aflac Cancer Center treats nearly 350 new cancer patients each year and follows more than 2,500 patients with sickle cell disease, hemophilia and other blood disorders. Patients range from infants to young adults. Michael Hernandez, Shihan, a 6th Degree Black Belt and owner of The Martial Arts Center, is himself a cancer survivor. He knows firsthand the battles these children wage to survive and reclaim their lives. |
